Roast Type: Medium-Light
High in the mountains of western Honduras, at 1,504 meters above sea level, a remarkable expression of Geisha is taking shape.
Our Honduras Santa Barbara Geisha comes from the renowned San Vicente region — an area that transformed adversity into excellence. Coffee has been cultivated here since the 1940s, but it wasn’t until the 1970s that it became the region’s economic heartbeat. After the devastating leaf rust outbreak of 2011, producers rebuilt their farms with resilience, introducing stronger varieties while preserving quality-focused cultivation.
In 2017, small plots of Geisha began appearing in Santa Barbara. What followed was a quiet revolution. Producers started experimenting with micro-lots, refining processing techniques, and elevating quality standards — particularly through washed processes handled at the respected San Vicente mill.
This Geisha reflects that journey.
Grown at high altitude and fully washed, this lot develops with clarity, structure, and precision. The cup opens with vibrant citrus notes of clementine, transitions into the tropical sweetness of papaya, and finishes with the crisp elegance of red apple. The acidity is lively yet refined, the body clean and silky, and the overall balance showcases why Geisha continues to captivate the specialty coffee world.
With an impressive 88.75 cup score, this is a refined yet approachable Geisha — bright, expressive, and beautifully structured.
Roasted to a medium profile to preserve its aromatics and layered sweetness, this coffee is ideal for:
• Pour-over
• Chemex
• V60
• AeroPress
• Light espresso extractions
This is Honduras redefining Geisha — vibrant, resilient, and world-class.
